Multiple detections of insulation defects partial discharge in gas-insulated equipment

Gas-insulated equipment is an important part of the power system owing to its advantages small footprint, large transmission capacity, and high reliability. Detection insulation defects partial discharge (PD) for operation maintenance, combination multiple detection methods can greatly improve accuracy PD detection. In this study, three kinds defects, namely, floating defect, void surface are set up on simulation platform detected using ultra-high frequency (UHF) method, high-frequency current (HFCT) acoustic emission (AE) method. The inception voltage (PDIV) phase-resolved (PRPD) spectrum measured by these recorded in experiments. experimental results show that UHF method effective defects.
